How can we help you?
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is used as a treatment for pain and provides specific relief for neurological conditions. It can be beneficial to those living with constant pain, bladder urgency or those needing regular night visits to the toilet, fatigue, ME or fibromyalgia.
Acupuncture works by using fine needles to stimulate the nerves under the skin and in muscle at particular points in the body. The body then produces natural endorphins which are responsible for the beneficial effects that you may feel.
Although not scientifically proven, it has been used for thousands of years by the Chinese and more recently the western world.
Can acupuncture points be used without the need to insert needles?
More recent advances in acupuncture techniques have seen the use of microsystem acupuncture, including acupressure and reflexology, negating the need for the use of needles. Developments in Auriculotherapy, or ear reflexology, has now enabled needle-free effective care for many bodily dysfunctions, including pain. We offer this as an alternative to acupuncture.
